WHY WE ATTRACT WHAT WE ATTRACT

We ask and question ourselves about the kind of people, money and even karma that we attract. If we are kind, why do we attract mean people? If we are loyal, why do we attract those who will betray us? Why is it that when we want to conduct ourselves with confidence, we’re not heard or admired…?

We ask and question ourselves about the kind of people, money and even karma that we attract. If we are kind, why do we attract mean people? If we are loyal, why do we attract those who will betray us? Why is it that when we want to conduct ourselves with confidence, we’re not heard or admired…?

Why does this happen?

Think of it this way: you’re not necessarily attracting what you are, instead you’re only attracting the people who are in desperate need of what you provide. When you expend your energy into proving your worth out there, you’re only focusing on telling the Universe that you’re not good enough when in reality, you should be focusing on feeling good and confident about yourself as a person. The first kind of expunged energy is penurious and will only deter your progress as well as the support of others around you.

Who are you really focusing on?

If you’re too fixated on outrunning the competition, or focusing on other people’s energies, you’re compromising an integral essence of your own identity. When you can’t balance your core, how can you put the right energies out to the Universe? Even with an attentive ear, it will not be able to understand your garbled sense of communication. The Universe has an abundance that you can only partake of when your faith of yourself is aligned perfectly alongside with it.

So, avoid comparing your desires or emotions with the others. When you focus your energies in judging someone else, you are not defining them. You are ONLY defining yourself. Reflect on it: The thing that bothers us about others is often something we refuse to acknowledge in ourselves, or something we’re in need of. This is not a clear communication to the Universe of what you want. Any negative emotion of thought will always play an inhibitor to your own transformation and growth.

Are you afraid of rejection?

There’s a popular saying that has been doing the rounds for a while: once bitten, twice shy. The fear of rejection is prevalent in everyone, especially those who have been burned before. Sometimes, your fears of rejection become bigger than your dreams and when that darkness sets in, it blinds your perspective. Here’s how I’d put a spin on it: when something doesn’t go my way, I think it’s because the Universe is sending me a sign that there are better things to come. My faith in the Universe is what keeps me going to realise what I actually want, instead of settling for something a little less perfect. A perfect case in point: Silver screen star Lisa Kudrow’s getting fired from popular sitcome Frazier actually landed her an even better role as the much loved ‘Pheobe’ on F.R.I.E.N.D.S, a fact she has openly admitted. Strengthen your faith and accept rejection as a guidance of what not to do, not a failing.

What Do You Want?

The only way you can really truly send your desires out there is by clearing your vision inwards. Are you sure of what you want? Why do you want it? You have to shape your vision and yourself with a solid mixture of faith, positivity and gratitude. But remember that your vision is nothing without the manifestation of positive actions. Without actions, your beautiful vision will remain just that – a vision.

Reflect on what you truly desire to be. It is only then that you can project yourself and your desires out into the world with unbreakable and unshakable conviction. Believe me, the Universe is listening, and it will hear your desires, ringing deep and clear as a bell.
